AGCONN receives California Department of Food and Agriculture training-delivery designation

Sacramento, CAApril 29, 2026

CDFA has approved AGCONN as a recognized delivery partner for state-funded farmworker certification programs in pesticide handler safety, integrated pest management, and irrigation technician roles.

The California Department of Food and Agriculture (CDFA) has granted AGCONN formal designation as a recognized delivery partner for state-funded agricultural workforce certification programs. The designation, effective immediately, covers pesticide handler safety training, qualified applicator certificate preparation, integrated pest management field training, and certified irrigation technician programs.

Under the designation, farmworkers completing CDFA-funded training through AGCONN receive a bilingual, e-signed certificate stored in their AGCONN skills wallet. The certificate is recognized statewide by employers and meets all CDFA continuing-education recordkeeping requirements. Each certificate carries the CDFA designation seal and a verifiable certificate number tied to the worker's state-issued credential record.

The first cohort of CDFA-funded training under this designation begins in Fresno County the week of May 12 with 60 farmworkers across pesticide handler and integrated pest management tracks. Sessions are conducted bilingually with materials in Spanish and English, and registration is available through any AGCONN worker profile.
